Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist (Healthcare Sciences)
Job Responsibilities
As a Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist, you will perform laboratory analytical procedures on blood and body fluids. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the technical accuracy, instrument operation, quality control, and result reporting per established policies and procedures. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is accountable to ensure timely and accurate results are reported to the appropriate hospital staff and physicians in a courteous and professional manner. Some support tasks will be required to maintain laboratory operations and may include specimen collection, sample handling, information system procedures, customer support, and common clerical duties. Scheduling of hours may be changed, as company deems necessary.
Additional responsibilities of the Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist include:
o Following procedures for test analysis and reporting, and maintaining records of patient results
o Understanding and operating test systems proficiently
o Troubleshooting test systems and taking appropriate action where indicated
o Utilizing job knowledge, judgment, and problem solving skills to ensure quality
Clinical Laboratory Scientist / Medical Technologist (Healthcare Sciences)
Job Requirements
o Performs only those waived, moderate, or highly complex tests authorized by CLIA, CA Codes (bpc: 1204).
o Requires a degree of skill commensurate with individual's education and skill set.
o Follows the laboratory's procedures for specimen handling and processing test analysis along with reporting and maintaining records of patient test results.
o Maintains records that demonstrate that the proficiency testing samples are tested in the same manner as patient samples.
o Adheres to the laboratory's quality control policies and documents all quality control activities, instrumental and procedural calibrations and maintenance performed.
o Follows the laboratory's established corrective action policies and procedures whenever test systems are not within laboratory's established acceptable levels of performance.
o Documents all corrective actions taken when test systems deviate from the laboratory's established performance specifications.
o Performs first-line troubleshooting procedures as well as complicated and less frequently performed procedures.
o Maintains quality control and assists in checking work accuracy before it is reported out.
o Ability to recognize differences in expected results for newborns to geriatrics.
o Performs calibration of equipment as required.
o Effectively operates laboratory equipment unassisted.
o May be required to perform venipuncture or capillary puncture on various age groups from newborn to geriatrics.
o Ability to move and maneuver throughout the lab without assistance.
o Special projects or other assignments may be given as needed.

The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
